EvD has three key objectives: -
Make high-quality information and analysis accessible and affordable. We want to see a radical improvement in knowledge about the lives of the poor and a better understanding of the obstacles to livelihood security and wealth creation they face. We can achieve this by making rigorous analytical tools routinely available to local and international users at low cost. -
Build partnerships with institutions in developing countries to train the next generation of researchers, analysts and field workers. -
Implement programmes with partners committed to maximising the impact and effectiveness of their development investments. To support these objectives, EvD focuses on three key approaches that assist local and international agencies in the design, monitoring and evaluation of programmes to reduce poverty or address other emergency issues: -
Development of software products that assist local and international agencies in the design, monitoring and evaluation of programmes to reduce poverty and mitigate the impact of health and other economic disasters. -
Consulting and work in partnership with non-profit, government and donor agencies to design interventions for maximum impact and local adaptation. -
Training in field assessment methods and data analysis. We train the next generation of researchers, analysts and field workers in our leading edge analytical approach. We foster links with academic institutions and promote dialogue and debate through the dissemination of research findings in publications, seminars and the media. | |
